time-stretched piano, slide guitar, and strings: a place of calm, rest, and uncomplicated pleasure
-
Danny Barwick’s Home (fragment) is a slow-moving piece of time-stretched piano, slide guitar, and strings, creating a place of calm, rest, and uncomplicated pleasure. It is the first single from Solace, Danny’s debut ambient album, written following the end of a 14-year relationship, creating a musical space for processing grief, finding safety and refuge.
Built from slowed improvisations by Australian jazz luminaries, Solace transforms contemporary jazz into an electro-acoustic ambient listening environment. -

“Surely Danny Barwick is right up there amongst Australia's best producers” - Tommy Faith, Triple J
“It took all of three minutes for Melbourne singer/producer Danny Barwick to cement his status as one of my favorite artists of 2017.... The kind of original record that we wait years for major label pop stars to release” - Indie Shuffle
“"His single “Flickering” has airs of James Blake and Radiohead surrounding it; toeing the line of poetic surrealism... Rich in sound quality and delivered with an odd haunting nature that immediately caught our attention" - The AU Review
